The characters of Happy Island were created and evolved from the flag of Barbados. The trident is used to create their smile, while the yellow in the flag which represents the sun is used for their complexion.
Our characters are emotions of the spirit and it is through their eyes that we experience the fantasies on Happy Island. The use of windows for their eyes were inspired by Destiny’s drawing above, and as an old proverb says, “Eyes are windows to the soul.” – Visit our book collection –
