Our first of many reading & workshops of 2015
Yesterday we presented our Book Reading and Craft Workshop for two classes of special needs students at PS. 811X, Bronx New York. Our first presentation was for a class of Autistic students I met a week ago. It was an amazing experience to share not only our book “A Snowboarding Adventure”, but to also share my experience as a world renown artist, showing my portfolio of familiar entertainers and giving an art demonstration on how to use an airbrush. Everyone in the class got the opportunity to express their artistic side using the airbrush including the teachers who work with these amazing students. Our second presentation for a class of students with Down Syndrome was a spontaneous occurrence after meeting a few familiar faces in the first classroom. The synchronicity was absolutely inspirational and I am especially grateful for the teachers Ms. Milly, Ms. Tara and my assistant Jessica Sutherland whose support had a huge impact on the flow of our day.
